Free Activities, Games, and Resources for Children Up to the Age of 5

Are you looking for developmentally appropriate activities, games and resources for your child?  The United Way of Northern Utah has teamed up with a program called Bright by Text that will text these activities, games, and resources right to your cell phone. The program states that you should expect 2-5 messages per week and are currently delivered in English.

The messages are research-based and created by top pediatricians and child development experts.  Messages are targeted to your child’s age and include information on child development, language and early literacy, health and safety, behavioral tips, and much more. The activities are fun and easy to do.  Sometimes they will send you messages about events or resources specific to Northern Utah as well, like free museum days, health clinics, and preschool open enrollment periods.

To be provided the information that is most relevant to your child’s age, you need to provide them with your child’s date of birth or due date for a child not born yet (all done through a texting).  Then, the messages will be linked to your child’s development and age so the advice that is provided is exactly what you need.  Once you sign up, messages will be sent that will prompt you on what to do next to complete the process.

To receive these activities, games, and resources, text UTFAMILY to 274448
**Just so you are aware…Message and data rates may apply.  If you want to stop, text STOP to 274448.

Important Tax Information

The Utah tax form TC-40D (Dependent With a Disability Exemption) is not authorized for this year as part of the changes to Utah Tax Law.  The State Legislature decided that increasing the child tax credit makes up for the additional deduction benefit of the TC-40D.  It was proposed that the deduction be looked at again as an option for 2025.  Therefore, Davis Early Intervention will not be providing a TC-40D for families with a child eligible for early intervention services in 2018.
